Suspect Identified in Friday Night’s Shooting

Friday night, a man was pronounced dead after shots rang out around 8:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of ninth Avenue.

Late Saturday, The Selma Police Department identified the victim as 43-year-old Mark Myles, who was the Selma Center for Nonviolence, Truth and Reconciliation (SCNTR) Community Outreach Manager.

As a result of the investigation, the Selma PD has identified 43-year-old Allen McCampbell as a suspect in the death of Myles.

Mr. McCampbell was taken into custody and placed under arrest for Murder and due to the nature of the charge, the warrant was issued with no bond pursuant to Aniah’s Law.

At this time, The Selma Police Department said that they will not release any additional details in order to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation.

The Selma Police Department said it extends its condolences to the family and loved ones of Mark Myles and remains committed to public safety and justice.
