Today is a sad day for all who loved Angie Stone. Stone was a legendary singer and songwriter who tragically passed in Montgomery, Alabama from a car crash that took place early Saturday morning on Interstate 65, a day after her performance within the city.

Her manager Deborah Champagne confirmed to a local news outlet in Montgomery County known as WSFA 12 News that Stone was headed towards the CIAA Basketball tournament in Baltimore when the crash happened.

Hearing the tragic news, media outlets alongside multiple news affiliates similar to WSFA 12 have reported on her sudden passing, including her fans leaving their thoughts underneath her songs on YouTube and many other mediums.

Stone was known for her legendary hits like “No More Rain (In this Cloud) and “Wish I Didn’t Miss You, including many others during her lifelong music career and today, music fans who knew of Stone are sadden and in utter disbelief asking her through online posts on Instagram to confirm that the news is not true.

“My mommy is gone,” said Ladi Diamond on social media, who is Stone’s daughter, confirming that the news is true and like several posts have said about Stone, she will be truly missed and will forever be a legend within the R&B genre of music.
