WILCOX—Alberta native Adam Pettway has recently been showcasing his “Urban” street attire online and has now been discovered by a clothing retailer named Hibbett Sports.

Pettway said he was asked by one of his colleagues from his former university to become a model for the clothing brand.

“I got contacted by a young lady I used to go to school with at Montevallo,”Pettway said. “She works at Hibbetts and she messaged me saying she had seen some of the photos I had been posting.”

Pettway said this is his first time professionally modeling for a clothing company and said he only has done photography shoots with friends.

“It was really fun. We met at this place called Red Mountain Park, which is a really beautiful park in Birmingham,” Pettway said. “We met the crew and just had a blast . We recorded a lot and got some really great video and some great photos and it’s been kind of going up every since”.

Pettway has done several photo shoots with the clothing retailer since his first Halloween-themed shoot in October.

Pettway’s fiancé, Megan Oliver contributed to several photoshoots for the clothing brand’s winter collection as well.

“There’s a lot that comes from it,” Pettway said. “It can definitely give you a boost on how you feel about yourself. A lot of times, people think, oh you have to look a certain way to be a model or be like six foot five or be super built or super slim, and really modeling with them and doing it in general showed me that anybody can do it.”

Pettway said modeling is all about having confidence and really liking and loving yourself.
